Light and Rain

Last winter before LFW I visited my friend Min Wu, after the nice food we were sitting in her studio drinking tea and talking about her new designs, the pale blue printed colors jacket she just finished really impressed me, it was definitely her personal aesthetic, funky and super unique.

From my point of view, Min ‘s designs projected her sharp, charming and bold characters a lot, she is the type of designer who always look forward, focus on exploring the possibility of futuristic designs and new technology, she always likes experimenting with something new and unusual, such as the oversize shapes and functional fabrics for her works, Same as her 2014AW collection as well. Was inspired by artist Anthony McCall’s light display works, she used interlacing lines and fluid shapes to create a strong visual contrast and dynamic sense to this collection, bringing the lightness and easy chic together. Especially I love those 3D printed accessories and decorations, they gave the whole collection more fun and more feminine feelings.

Originally we planned to take pictures under the lightness, however, it was raining non-stop during the shooting at that day. Walking in the rain with wearing the design which was inspired by lights, I guess it was also very unique contrast though~

This display and yourself are so cute. Hapiness under the rain. The dress details are like a fantasy and suits you way better than the models.

Wow, I love your friend’s designs! The detail at the waist of the dress evokes so many things–bows, flowers, small organisms and obi belts. I often find that futuristic designs are unattached to conventional femininity, but I love how it’s so present here. Your illustrations and photographs of it are fantastic, too! The trees and gentle rain really take me back to Berlin. Thanks for sharing.
