Mid autumn Paris.

It has been a week here already since I came to Paris again, however, this city still keeps inspiring me and surprising me everyday. No other city could be surrounded by  incredible landscapes,  countless museums, historical districts and delicate shops at the same time. As the most inspirational city, it gives the most influential and openest  art atmosphere to everyone who has passion for beautiful things. I won’t dare to say Paris is the most creative city, but it is one of the most classic city for me definitely.
During the fashion week I took some free time to go to two great exhibitions. One was” Impressionism et mode”, the other one was”Paris vu par Hollywood”. Both of them talk about Paris, but with totally different eras and perspectives. When I was a little kid, my art  knowledge started with Impressionism. From Manet’ s contrast colors to Renoir’s feminine portraits, Impressionism contained all the elements what  Parisians like during 19 century. It was such a precious experience to see how this exhibition presented art, fashion and 19 century’s culture together. Parisian never follow trends, they just insist on their attitude of life. In the modern era, Hollywood movie represent a dreamy Paris with their imagination, from the indoor background at very beginning until the real scene after New Wave, from American filmmakers’s view paris is much more delightful and romantic. It is interesting that you could see these two different attitudes of the same city.(Actually the view of Paris from Billy Wilder’s movies is my favorite.)
Everyone has a unique Paris in their heart. For me, Paris in the beginning of last century was the excellent. There were too many respectful people and too much cultural influences in this city.
Perhaps I am so obsessed with Golden age of Paris, apparently my style is influenced by this era so much: Black and white, Bob and flappers… Maybe the best time always belonged to the past, but we still would love to live in the present.
